The Detroit jazz scene, especially Cass Technical High-School, produced a number of jazz giants during the period when I was growing up there among which were Pepper Adams, Donald Byrd, Milt Jackson, Barry Harris, Elvin, Hank and Thad Jones (from Pontiac Michigan), Tommy Flanagan, Curtis Fuller, Paul Chambers, Kenny Burrell, Doug Watkins, Art Mardigan, and Frank Rosolino. I recorded the WKCR Tristano Marathon with Easy Hi-Q; but, nowadays, one can acquire the best digital versions on the web just by googling. What you cant get are my personal recordings of Chris Anderson, Karen Dalton, Bob Arkin, Perry Robinson, Hod OBrien, Lou Ornstein, Roswell Rudd, Gino Biondo, and others some of which were made with Neumann U87 mikes! These are in the process of being edited.
